The Word

  • 1 Corinthians 16:14
    Do everything in love.
  • Philippians 4:6, 7
Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Rip, rip, and rest in peace. Seriously, I am never happy with something if there is a mistake in it. It does depend on the severity of the mistake, but most times I have to just suck it up and rip it.

Rachel

First, I would try to repair the cable by dropping down only the cable stitches, and cross them at the right point. If that didn't work, I would rip it out to the error and reknit. I think that if you posted about it, the error is bothering you, and you would be happier in the end if you take the time now to fix it. Good luck!

I'm glad the TV watching helped a little. I don't watch much myself, but sometimes a good program is enough to get you past the blahs of a project.

I agree with the previous posters (and you know what I did to my CPH) -- if it bothers you, rip it. I promise that it might hurt for a moment, but then you'll feel a lot more peaceful about it. Otherwise, you are always going to look right at the mistake and it is going to cause you frustration, and then you'll never wear the item after you've invested the time and money in your wool. That knit fix book I mentioned had some good photos of how to fix a cable vertically (I'm not sure if I would do it myself, but thought I'd mention it).

As for your seasons contest, my favorite hands-down season is summer. The long days of sunlight give me more energy and help me to stay in a cheery mood. I love the leaves on the trees and the flowers blooming in the garden. I love that it's warm enough to wear a sundress and sandals or a light cardigan, instead of heavy wool coats, boots, mittens, scarves, etc. I love riding my bicycle after supper (it's getting harder to do that now) and visiting the beach, and everyone seems to be in a lighter mood even if they're not on summer vacation, just because of the time of year that it is. If I could, I'd live in a place where it was summer all year round!

P.S. I meant to ask if you are using a row counter on the vest? That might help with the cable crossings.

Gracie

I love that show! I watched it last night as well. those boys were so adorable!

I'm with the rippers, but I think that you only have to take back the cable section rather than the whole sweater. Somewhere out there I've seen a tutorial on this so it might be worth a Google search.

Knitting and TV go together like pizza and Mountain Dew. Can't have one without the other! ;)

Im not much of a tube-watcher either Beth and I don't really like knitting or crocheting along with a show. It takes away the 'contemplative' part of the process, I think.

You are doing great, getting the Christmas swap up and running, glad I signed up!

Selena

I'd love to join the Christmas gift swap.

No, No!!! How could I have missed this swap???? I'm boo-hooing right now, with slobber getting all over my keyboard. I think I'm about to dry up from all the tears I've shed.
