Knees, trees, and psycho pets is just another way to say "random things" since I used that title already. :)
First, I want to thank you all for your prayers and nice thoughts for my mom. Thankfully, she is doing better than she was. The worst pain was with her back due to the position she was in for the surgery. Plus the pain medication wasn't working. The pain management doctor put her back on the medication she was using before the surgery and that's helping to ease her back pain. And she was approved to stay for at least one week in the skilled care rehab part of the hospital. That's a relief to everyone. I let her know you were thinking of and praying for her and she really appreciates it. And so do I!
Trees? We got our Christmas tree taken down today. That was also a relief! I'm really glad we didn't put many decorations up because it hasn't been too bad taking them down. Now we get to move all of our first floor furniture because we're getting hardwood floors put in. The installation will happen in a couple of weeks, but we have to start working on moving our stuff now due to time conflicts later. We've meant to do this for a while and our carpet really, really needs to be replaced. But, like most other things, I've been procrastinating. So, I asked my husband to be in charge of the project and things are moving along. :)
Our pug, Phoebe, is being a psycho dog. We're supposed to keep the bandage on her paw dry. Since it's been raining, I've been putting a sandwich bag over her paw and securing it loosely with a rubber band. Do you think that dog can go to the bathroom with that on? No. It is a major deal now. She finally will go after a long time of standing there. Tonight she refused to go at all and I'm afraid I'll be getting up at 3:00AM. Any ideas on another way to keep her paw dry?
How would you like to hear about a little knitting? I picked up my Central Park Hoodie again tonight! I guess today was pretty productive knitting-wise because I also blocked S's scarf, finished one hat and started another, and finished the knitting part of the project I've been vaguely mentioning. Pictures to come soon.
Enjoy your weekend!
I'm glad to hear that your mom is doing better, now that the pain meds have been fixed, and her rehab stay will be extended to allow her to recover well.
I wish I had some advice for the doggie issue, but I'm at a loss on that one. My dog sometimes refuses to go to the bathroom if it's raining. Animals can be so weird.
I can't wait to see your CPH progress!

As one whose pets dictate pretty much anything that goes on in this house, I am not going to have much to offer as your Dog Whisperer...I just do as I'm told. ::sigh::
Glad that your mom is resting more comfortably and that she is being allowed the time she needs to get better. That must be such a relief for you.

Sorry I didn't mention your Mom in your last post, I didn't see that part. Hope all is going well and she's doing much better soon.
And, poor Pheobe! Pugs do tug at the heart strings. I don't think I've ever had the problem with not getting a foot wet before. You could try an old sock with the baggie inside it, then just change the sock. Might not aggrivate her so much.
Not much new down here in the southern part of the state but the sun is shining and it's WARM! Winter skipped us this year and it sounds like it skipped the rest of the country too. Oh, and my Baby left me this morning to go back to college. All her piles are gone and she even made her bed before she left. ....sigh....
Have a great weekend!

You did all that knitting AND took your tree down???? Ours came down today, too. My house feels huge now.

Awww poor phoebe. Mercy is trained to go on a "potty pad" in cases of extreme weather, or if we are gone more than 8 hours. She used it more often when she was teeney and only once in a great while will she use it now. Or when its pouring out. She will walk out the front door, get a little wet, and run back inside.

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment! I hope your mom is feeling much better now, and Phoebe too. Our Charlie had a growth on his paw removed, and he wore a bandage for a week, but it didn't seem to be an issue for him. Then again, he didn't have to go outside to use the litter box.
Congratulations on all your finished knits. You are doing an amazing job with everything else going on. Can't wait to see your CPH! Mine is lonely...LOL :)
