The Word

  • 1 Corinthians 16:14
    Do everything in love.
  • Philippians 4:6, 7
Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I like the part about not knowing how wide our influence might be. Makes me feel better about things right now.

Mia

Thanks. I needed that today.

What a beautiful excerpt to read, with my morning coffee, thanks Beth.

Thank you for sharing that. Living 'in' this world as we do, it is oftentimes easy to forget we are not to be 'of' this world. We need to remind ourselves that though this life is temporal, what we do in it can have a far reaching effect, long after we are gone.

Some days I'd like to be invisible. But, I suppose that, if I were doing something more constructive, I'd not feel that way. Definitely something to consider on a daily basis!

We can so often feel like we are not noticed, right? It's interesting to me that God very often calls us to do our greatest deeds Unnoticed...giving,praying,contributing,worshipping, sharing, etc. For God sees our hearts in those matters, when the world doesn't see us. For example, I wonder if God smiles more when we worship in private than when we are on display. Do you know what I mean? It's a tricky balance, I think. Thank you for a wonderful devotional for the day, Bethie!

That *is* encouraging. And I've been tagged, too. I don't think I'm reading anything. I'll have to wait until I am!
