Here's what I do instead of watching TV...
1. Knit, of course! Tonight I started a new project: two toe-up socks on one circular needle. I'm really excited!
2. Read blogs and write for my blog - Right now I have a lot of catching up to do!
3. Look around on Ravelry - First I check messages, then the forums, then I look at the new patterns that have come in. Do you have a Rav-routine?
4. Check email - If you combine #2, #3, and #4 you can see that I actually spend more time on the computer than I do in front of the TV.
5. Talk to my family on the phone - Sometimes I combine this one with #3.
6. Read books - It's rare that I sit down with a book at night. I usually read more throughout the day. But sometimes I just can't put that book down at night!
7. Work in the garden - Around here you can only work in the garden in the early morning or at night. Just when the mosquitoes are out and about.
8. Go to band practice, prayer shawl knitting, etc. - Several nights during the week I have commitments. My favorite one is band practice!
9. Walking - This is one thing that I should be doing but haven't been.
10. Practicing guitar - Again, this is something that I should do every night but don't.
There you have it. What do you do instead of watching TV?
we don't have tv :)

When it comes to email, Ravelry, and internet stuff I tend to have the TV on as background noise. Great list!

I don't really have a ravelry routine. I usually go very frequently for a few weeks when I'm planning additional projects and then forget it exists for a month or so.
Instead of television, I do a lot of cooking, dog walking and other outdoor activities.

The additional problem is that TV is on the internet (Hulu, station sites...etc.) but I'm knitting as I surf :).

I'm a lot like you ~ no tv; too much internet. But since giving up tv 5 years ago, we've come to really enjoy our "quiet" home. It's so pleasant to sit and spin and hear the whirrrr of the air through the wheel.
