The play (Treasure Island) starts next week and I figured I'd have the costumes I'm sewing done by Tuesday. Last year I was finishing up a costume minutes before the first show started. I didn't want to repeat that again! On Monday night I looked over my calendar and realized that cast photos are being taken this Saturday...in costume. My deadline moved up quite a bit!
I just finished up a hat and I wish I had better pictures. I put super-duper heavy duty interfacing in this one and it turned out great. Now I need to make a Navy captain's outfit, a coat for Long John Silver and hopefully a dress. Plus another hat or two. It's going to be close.
In my panic, my first reaction isn't thankfulness. So I have to slow myself down and find some good things in the situation.
Day 3: I am thankful that I can sew, that my machine works, and that I'm finding the supplies I need. I'm thankful I'm not the only seamstress!!! I'm thankful that my sewing will be done early because my mom comes in next week and now I'll have more time to visit.
The costumes will be great and you will meet your deadlines and all the people who benefit from this will be thankful for YOU.

Wow! Of course, the best part will be the memories the kiddos have later "My Mom made the best costumes when I was a kid"
Good luck!

You are doing a fantastic job, and the kids are going to so appreciate all you've done to support them. Don't forget to take breaks now and then so you won't work when you're too tired. :)
