I didn't participate in last week's Ten on Tuesday topic because my nightstand was just too messy to be in a photo! But I'm back for this week's topic. To narrow down my choices, I used this list to highlight the films I've seen. There are some I can't quite remember if I've seen, but I think I've watched about thirty of them. And while some of the movies on the list are excellently made and could be chosen for their artistic value, I've just chosen movies I like to watch. Here are my favorites in order by year:
2003 - The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
1994 - Forrest Gump
1989 - Driving Miss Daisy
1988 - Rain Man
1982 - Gandhi
1965 - The Sound of Music
1964 - My Fair Lady
1943 - Casablanca
1942 - Mrs. Miniver
1939 - Gone with the Wind
It would be hard for me to choose my favorite movie from that list but if I had to choose, it would be either The Sound of Music or My Fair Lady. What are your favorite Oscar winning movies?
Wonderful list and if I had to choose it would be Sound of Music!

hummmm... haven't seen lord of the rings or mrs miniver, but guess I should, huh? (at least we have lord of the rings on the dvd shelf - mrs miniver might be harder to come by :-) ...I am a huge fan of the musicals and could watch My Fair Lady and Sound of Music over and over, too!

Great list! I could and have watched My Fair Lady a great many times. I've seen it several times on the stage as well.
I think the music fits so perfectly with the action! I didn't do Carole's meme, but I'm having fun visiting you all.
