Like much of the country, it has been terribly hot here in the Atlanta area. So on Saturday, I stayed inside. I did a little cleaning and laundry, but mostly I worked on some quilts and read.
These are most of the blocks for Emma's quilt. Instead of using the Card Trick blocks, I'm making a rail fence quilt. Hopefully I can show you a layout photo soon.
This is a quilt for the refugee quilts our church makes. I'm using all stash fabric for it. It feels good to help someone and also to use up fabric I already have. The squares are 3" finished, so there is quite a bit of piecing for this quilt. I'm not wild about the green, but it's what I had on hand.
Just like knitting, quilting is addicting. Here's the quilt I want to make next. I already have stash fabric chosen. This quilt will probably be for a friend's baby. I can't let myself start on this until the others are finished, right? Sigh...
I hope you stayed cool and were able to do something fun, too!
ooohh, pretty fabric! all the blocks look great... especially love the colors for emma and the greens and yellows in your stash. stay cool!

That's so true about quilting! I've got a log cabin that just needs borders and when I was looking for border fabric I found a blue and yellow quilt from several years ago that I never finished. It just needs borders, too!

Ooh, I love the fabric. I have Joel's quilt top that I need to work on too. It's been cut for so long, but I haven't pieced it. Maybe that can be my project for the week.

Love the colours for Emma's quilt.
I'm also committed to working from stash this year.

I'm always in awe of quilting and the work it takes :) It's been SO HOT here for weeks too! And yes, I have been staying cool indoors and lazing my time away :)

i got a bit of sewing and knitting in this weekend since it was too hot to do anything outside. i'm trying to sew down my stash. have come across things that don't quite go with anything else, so i bought a bunch of white and cream fabric to incorporate so i'll have "something" at the end. look forward to an update and photos
